Applications are now being accepted for any individual or group wishing to participate in the 2019 Apple Harvest Festival parade.
Completed forms may be submitted by email to: firstname.lastname@example.org (please note “Parade Entry” in the subject line) or by postal mail to: Apple Harvest Festival, 75 Main Street, Southington, CT 06489.
Applications are due by Wednesday, July 31, 2019.
- The theme for the 2019 Apple Harvest Festival is “Bushels of Family Fun.” Please keep this in mind as you design your float, costumes, vehicle decorations, etc.
- Commercial vehicles may only be used to tow floats or as part of a marching group; they will NOT be accepted as entries strictly for advertising.
- The Apple Harvest Festival Committee reserves the right to remove from the parade any entry deemed to be controversial in nature.
Viewing the Parade
The 2019 Apple Harvest Festival parade is scheduled to be held on Sunday, October 6 (rain date: Sunday, October 13). The parade will kick off at 2:00 pm near the intersection of Summit Street & Knowles Avenue. The parade will continue north to Bristol & Center Streets before turning and heading back south on Main Street (Route 10). The parade will conclude on Eden Avenue.
Parking downtown is very limited. It is strongly suggested that visitors take advantage of the FREE parking and shuttle bus service from Southington High School, 720 Pleasant St. Attendance is typically higher than average on parade day, so please allow plenty of time for travel, parking and shuttle service prior to 2:00 pm.
